Since 1948, Camp Shalom has been operating an amazing Jewish summer camp dedicated to having a lasting impact on the lives of the campers and staff.
Situated in Gravenhurst on the beautiful Lake Muskoka, Camp Shalom started off almost a century ago, with a small group of 25 campers and a handful of voluntary staff.
The following year there were 30 campers. Year after year the enrollment increased, generation after generation, and today the camp is at full capacity,
Rustic and down-to-earth, the Camp Shalom culture is all about Israel and a commitment to Jewish values.
Presently the camp has 65 buildings, which consists of 23 camper cabins, staff accommodations, a rec hall, a chapel, a massive kosher kitchen, bakery and dining hall, as well as buildings to house the 23 different camp activities. Surrounded by magnificent nature, woods and hiking trails, the camp has two large sports fields, tennis and basketball courts, and a 100-foot waterfront.
Camp Shalom is all about community, fun, caring, nurturing, self-confidence, new skills, dedication, belonging, traditions… each summer, creating lifetime friendships and unforgettable summer memories.
